We are currently contacting several people, institutions and organisations active in the field of translation, literature and cultural exchange as well as coordinating next year’s stations for Transletting Italia.
We are building up an EXCHANGE and working on EVENTS in NEW YORK in March and April 2025:
There is going to be a continuation of our exchange in Creative Translation in collaboration with Columbia University, Brooklyn College and writers & translators interested to participate.
Furthermore, we would love to bring translation and working with a multitude of languages to everyone’s attention through workshops, panel talks, presentations and other yet to be found forms and formats.
PAST EVENTS
January - July, 2024. TRANSLETTING, Exchange in Creative Translation between DLL and Columbia University, as well as writers & translators from the German speaking world with writers & translators living in New York City

March 28, 2024 – Presentation of ongoing translations at Columbia University, reading and panel discussion
April 3, 2024 – Translation is Art, presentation and panel discussion at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research, in partnership with Ugly Duckling Presse and Barricade Journal.
April 5, 2024 – Ilse Aichinger Lesen, workshop, reading and co-legere at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson NY. With students and faculty, Jana Schmidt and in collaboration with Thomas Wild.
June 19, 2024 – Presentation of ongoing translations at Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig, reading and performance.
November 22, 2024 – Hannah Arendt Lesen, workshop, reading and co-legere of a text by Hannah Arendt in both English and German at DLL. In collaboration with Christian Pischel with students from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig and Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig.
